Classics Reunite for a Round of Golf
Generations of Classic Wallabies from the sixties through to the noughties descended upon Manly Golf Club at the annual Wallabies Golf Day, part of the Bledisloe Cup Festival.
It was a special day in particular for many of the ’78, getting together ahead of their 40 year reunion at the test match on the Saturday evening.
Groups of three each teamed up with a Classic Wallaby in a light-hearted four-ball ambrose event, with numerous novelty holes including a hole of ‘rugby golf’.
One Classic Wallaby was unable to attend – Richard Tombs – following his recent freak accident. However everyone showed plenty of support by flexing their muscles with their #GunsOutForTombsy.
The stunning day was capped with an entertaining dinner hosted by MC Sean Maloney, who interviewed Wallaby greats Andrew Slack and Greg Cornelson.
Newly appointed Classic Wallabies Careers and Pathway Manager, James Holbeck, was on hand to award the day’s prizes.
The winning team was CBL Markets, captained by Wallaby legend Russell Fairfax.
